Even though Maureen never made it to visit her true spiritual home, especially Jamieson’s for all that wool, her book TREAD SOFTLY BECAUSE YOU TREAD ON MY DREAMS has made it, to the shelves of Shetland Library (2 copies). For which I am truly grateful to the staff, she would have been so chuffed.
Did you know that the Harry Potter books only became famous because the publisher sent every library in the UK a free copy? Well I can’t stretch to that, but do know enough like-minded souls (yes that’s you) who could make it a real possibility. Either by donating a copy to your local branch or asking them to stock it. Think of all those readers who will then like it so much they want to get copies for all their friends. It could become a bestseller by Xmas. It is all in your hands.

Finally a picture of another free book resource, located just across the road from the Library in Lerwick. Which has inspired us to create our very own book fridge (to raise funds for Shetland Cat Rescue) at the end of our track in the very near future.
